Description

The EKOTON radial thickener is designed for thickening various sludges and slurries. The use of centrally driven EKOTON sludge thickeners allows to significantly reduce the costs of sludge transportation, stabilization and dewatering.

Scope of application of radial thickeners:

  • sewage treatment plants,
  • water treatment plants,
  • sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants, treatment plants of industrial enterprises.

The purpose of radial thickeners:

  • Thickening of sludge to reduce its initial moisture content and volume.

Technical features of radial thickeners Ekoton:

  • It is possible to manufacture the equipment either for installation in a concrete settling tank or for delivery as a separate tank assembly.
  • The central drive of the thickener is equipped with a radial thrust bearing. It requires no adjustments and is adapted to significant loads.
  • The bearing has a conveniently located special lubrication unit, which can be serviced by personnel directly from the bridge without having to stop and dismantle the unit.
  • The control cabinet is made with frequency converters. They allow to vary the speed of movement of the working part of the thickener. Control cabinet can be installed on the bridge or in closed rooms, in close proximity to the thickener.
  • The equipment is delivered to the sites in large-scale assembly. Installation is carried out in a short time by a minimum number of employees. This significantly reduces the time of installation works with the use of expensive special equipment.

Reliability, long service life and cost-effectiveness of Ekoton radial sludge thickeners:

  • The thickener components are corrosion resistant due to the use of AISI 304 stainless steel and aluminum materials.
  • The structure has a large safety margin and is capable of carrying significant loads.
  • The working part of the thickener is driven by a central drive, which eliminates the need to purchase and install an expensive bridge drive cart and equipment for cleaning the running track.
  • There is no need to install a current collector.
  • Thickener scrapers are made of a metal frame and a rubber strip that gently and thoroughly cleans the surface of the sump bottom. Replacement of the rubber strip due to natural wear and tear is carried out in a short time and without significant costs.
  • For the safe movement of personnel, the bridge truss is equipped with an anti-slip coating of the "lentil" type track, and at the bottom of the railing posts there are restrictive barriers to prevent slipping from the bridge track.
  • Lighting is provided on the bridge truss. This allows employees to safely navigate the bridge during twilight and at night.

Principle of operation of the Ekoton radial sludge thickener:

The principle of operation of the thickener is based on thickening of the original sludge by gravitational settling in the tank. In order to intensify the thickening process, the thickener is equipped with rod agitators mounted on a frame. By slowly rotating the frame, the rod agitators promote water diffusion and thickening of the sludge, as well as the removal of air (gases) present in the sludge. The compacted sludge is transported along the bottom of the tank by scrapers mounted on the frame to the central pit, where it is removed. Clarified water from the top of the thickener flows into overflow trays installed around the perimeter of the thickener and is further discharged from the thickener.

The tank itself is designed as a cylindrical vessel with a bottom in the form of a wide open cone. The angle of the bottom with respect to the horizon is about 9º. On the upper belt of the tank there is a supporting bridge for fixing the feeding cup with a feeding pipe and the central drive of the scraper mechanism.

The thickener operation is continuous and the thickened sludge has a moisture content of 85-97%.

Question-answer

How often should the electric drives of the Ekoton radial thickener be serviced?

Maintenance of the electric drives is limited to oil change once every 2 years.

What ensures quality thickening of sludge in Ekoton radial thickeners?

On the working part of the thickener - the openings - there is a set of strips with a certain pitch and width. When moving slowly, these strips release the water trapped in the sludge layers. This results in a high quality thickening of the sludge.
