Operating principle
The principle of operation of primary sedimentation tanks is based on the process of sedimentation of wastewater. Under the influence of gravitational forces insoluble impurities settle to the bottom, and light floating substances float to the surface. Sludge and floating substances are removed from the sedimentation tank with the help of bottom scrapers.

The Industrial Group offers sludge scrapers with radial, semi-diametric and diametric scrapers, with peripheral, and central drive, which allows to cover the sedimentation tanks.
Individual approach to the selection of components for the equipment
The scrapers, which are the working elements that rake the sludge to the central pit, are located on scraper wings suspended by struts and rods from a rotating platform.
The length and curvature of the scrapers varies as they approach the pit. The scrapers are equipped with rubber aprons to increase efficiency.
The central rotation support is made in the form of a bearing rotation unit. This design increases the reliability of the unit during operation and simplifies installation.
The bridge truss serves for access to the central part of the sludge scraper.
The shape gives it high strength and the weight is considerably less than in other manufacturers' designs. On top of the bridge truss there is a metal or plastic deck, enclosed by a railing.
At the outer end of the truss there is a drive cart equipped with a frequency-controlled electric drive and polyurethane treaded wheels.
The silt scraper bridge is the main support structure for the scrapers and auxiliary equipment. It is specially designed for heavy loads with high sludge solids content and provides easy access and maintenance of equipment elements.

When replacing outdated equipment, the IRPO sludge scraper can be installed in the existing sedimentation basin without modifying the construction base of the concrete bowl.

The sludge scrapers are available with both peripheral and central drive, which additionally allows the sludge lagoons to be covered.
Ergonomic bridge design provides easy access and maintenance of the sludge scraper elements.
The equipment utilizes an original device for collecting floating substances. A static scraper rakes floating from the center to the periphery, and then the mechanism of the receiving hopper automatically removes them from the sump into the floating collection chamber.
The special design of the scrapers allows the sludge to be moved evenly and without unnecessary agitation into the central pit. The scrapers do not wear out or abrade the concrete bottom of the tank.
IRPO sludge scrapers are equipped with a chute edge cleaning device. The automatic brush serves both single-sided and double-sided overflow trays. Its stiffness is selected to ensure the removal of biofilm from the trays with the longest possible service life.
The design utilizes special studs that allow the position of the deflector to be adjusted relative to the water mirror in the sump.
Long service life
Sludge scrapers are made entirely of anticorrosive steel AISI304 with the use of polymeric materials. At the customer's request a combined version of AISI304 anticorrosive steel and aluminum alloys is possible.
Long service life of components is also due to the ease of their replacement. Due to the reduced weight of the materials, the load on the system components is significantly reduced.
This ensures a longer service life and allows
quick and easy maintenance.
The sludge scraper can be equipped with a frequency converter, which allows a wide range of speed control.
This also allows to increase the service life of the equipment.
It is possible to manufacture individual elements of the sludge scraper in explosion-proof version.
The control system of the complex provides adjustment of the scraper speed, intensity of sludge collection without deterioration of its properties, cleaning of the sump board and trays, lighting of the bridge track and protection of all main devices from overloads.
